AN ENTIRELY NEW CONCEPT IN CONTESTS FOR ROMANCE READERS:

THE IT HAPPENED ONE SEASON CONTEST

In a nutshell: The romance readers of the world will vote for their favorite plot, and Stephanie Laurens, Mary Balogh, Jacquie D'Alessandro and Candice Hern will write 4 different stories to that specification, and HarperCollins Publishers will publish the works in the anthology It Happened One Season.

But here's the biggest twist - we're challenging the romance readers of America (over 18 years of age) to supply the plot.

Do you love older heroines, or Cinderella romances? Or maybe you prefer the reformed rake, or the damsel in distress? Or perhaps explorers?

Whatever your fancy, you now have a chance to suggest your plot for consideration for voting as the favorite plot. On the contest site, there's a three point plot guide to help you describe your favorite Regency romance plot. You can submit your ideas in a simple form.

The contest commences February 1. The first round involves submission of your plot ideas and will end on February14th - Valentine's Day, of course!

From all the entries submitted, four finalists will be chosen, and then the general voting will commence to determine what the romance readers of the world feel is the most popular Regency romance plot of all. The overall winner will be determined by popular acclaim - anyone can vote for their favorite of the finalists.

How did such a contest come about? After the success of our last anthology, IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT, the four of us wanted to write another anthology where again all four novellas were based on the same plot. As with our last effort, which worked so well and proved so enjoyable for our readers, it's intriguing to see how vastly different one plot can be in the hands of four different authors. But this time, we thought you, our readers, might like to determine the plot.

As you might imagine for such a revolutionary contest, the prizes will be significant. The grand prize winner will be acknowledged on the dedication page of the anthology IT HAPPENED ONE SEASON and will receive a $1,000 American Express gift card and a copy signed by all 4 authors. Semi-finalists will receive a $100 American Express gift cards and a set of personalized autographed books.

So click on the button above, and enter your favorite Regency romance plot!

Five officers in the East India Company corps are charged with bringing a heinous villain to justice. One dies gaining the vital evidence required. The four remaining set out to avenge their friend by ferrying the crucial evidence home to England - into the hands of the Duke of Wolverstone, the one man powerful enough to see justice done.

Filled with drama, passion and intrigue, let the Black Cobra Quartet sweep you away to places and times where men were definitely men, heroic and strong, and women...matched them.

In THE ELUSIVE BRIDE we meet the second of our four dashing heros - Major Gareth Hamilton - and Miss Emily Ensworth, the lady who pursues him, unknowingly into danger.
