About novellas in general, and Stephanie's Novellas in particular:

Novellas are longer than short stories and shorter than short novels. In terms of number of words, novellas range from about 20,000 to 40,000, with shorter works ranking as short stories, and longer works as short novels. Novellas are routinely published in collections termed anthologies containing either the collected works of one author, or, more frequently these days, the works of several authors dealing with a specific theme.

The six novellas Stephanie has had published thus far are contained in anthologies of the latter sort, together with the works of other romance authors on the designated theme.

Stephanie says: "I've always relished the challenge of novellas -- as a novelist whose "comfort zone" lies at greater than 125,000 words, to tell an engaging, satisfying romance in 25,000 words is truly a challenge, and keeps me on my writing toes."
